Modern websites are fantastic for easily adding content, selling online and getting your message out there.
This ease of use comes at a price and that price is the complexity of the software used to create your website. It’s no longer one piece of software, it’s multiple pieces of software working together to create your web presence. Often the pieces of software come from multiple vendors. Most vendors are very good at ensuring that their software is very robust and well-supported.
If they see a problem, they fix it. These fixes are called updates. Just like your computer or phone that requires updates from time to time, it’s the same with your website.
Question.. who is updating the software on your website? Is it you? Is it your website people? Is it your hosting company?
The reality is that unless you have an agreement in place with either your web people or your hosting company, then by default it’s you. |
